The heart of the CBD may seem like an unusual place for the Victorian Farmers Association to be based. But with a little help from the visionaries at design firm RCA, STAARK was able to bring the spirit of the country to Collins Street with this headquarters build that was overseen by passionate Project Lead and co-founder Dominik Kubic.

“As the powerful voice for the farming industry since 1979, the Victorian Farmers Association is all about building bridges between rural communities and the cities, so we wanted to achieve a build that represented that link,” Dominik says.

The flexible workspace uses smooth lines, bright space, pale timber finishes, a grass green colour palette and country map detailing to capture an open-air feel. “We worked on this one during the early days of lockdown, which created logistical challenges around access, with hurdles to overcome in bringing material up via a small fire escape and lift,” Dominik adds. “I’m really happy with how we pulled it all together.”
