Project details
Leading fitness studio F45 approached us to refurbish their space in St Kilda East. Nestled on Carlisle Street’s buzzing coffee strip, the gym occupies Level 2 of Beller House, a 1973 building, and required a complete transformation from a dilapidated 1970s space into a fully functional, modern fitness centre.
With only stair access available, STAARK removed demolition materials via a bin chute and coordinated deliveries by stairs and crane lifts to minimise disruption to tenants.
During the build, the team identified and resolved significant slab defects by installing steel supports, ensuring the space met safety and compliance requirements. The entrance was also reworked to create a modern, welcoming arrival while respecting the character of the building and surrounding tenancies.
Working within F45’s design guidelines and a constrained footprint, STAARK delivered a light-filled, highly functional gym aligned with the brand’s standards.
