Situated on the banks of the Murray River, teeming with paddle steamers, northwest Victorian city Mildura is one of the state’s most vibrant rural hubs. That makes it an exciting destination in which to collaborate with our valued client, Coles. It also presents challenges, with STAARK based in Melbourne.

Good job we had a top-notch communicator on the case in Project Lead Nigel De Silva, alongside Site Manager Michael Castle. “In this regional setting, procurement played a crucial role, and we take pride in our thorough approach, making sure everyone’s connected, from the team at Coles to the architects, TRG,” Nigel says. “Luke Hill, Coles’ Project Manager, was an invaluable support in the seamless execution of this project, delivered while parts of the store remained open.”

As a Coles renewal project, the Mildura job had a broad scope and a longer timeline. “The addition of feature cladding around the perimeter set the stage for an enriched shopping experience, complemented by the visual uplift of the deli, bakery, and seafood sections,” Nigel adds. “Even with a tough concrete job required, we figured it out and it all went incredibly smoothly in the end.”

Bulkhead treatments, Knotwood and Pinoli Cladding.
Full internal repaint and line marking back of house.
Trenching and new drains for Refrigeration Cases.
Vinyl floor replacement to new trench work.
New Lighting and Power.
Refurb of Fish, Deli and Bakery areas including Painting, Tiling, Epoxy, Cladding, and Partitions.
Convert old Meat Area with new partition walls to create new Click and Collect back of house room and Service Desk.
New Remax back of house doors.
Refurb entry columns with new tiling and crash rails.
New Orange Juice and Flat Bread machine, new Chicken Warmer and new Mochi Fridge.
New Digital Screens and Crash Rails.
New Customer Service Desk and Front End Registers.
Coordination of all Coles direct contractors works including Refrigeration, Internal and External signage, Shop fitting, Data Electricians, Security and IT.
