Richmond, the beloved Melbourne suburb that is home to the hallowed sporting ground of the MCG and acts as a buffer between the north and south of the city, has emerged into a creative hub and thriving centre for offices that offer a little bit more, style-wise.

STAARK Senior Project Manager Stephen Mellios, in collaboration with BG Architecture, has added to the mix, transforming a tired commercial space into a beautiful, light-filled working hub with a statement staircase, a wow-factor lobby and showers, lockers and bike racks to encourage cycling to work.

“Ground floor retail tenancies continued to operate throughout the build, so all works had to be coordinated in a manner that did not disrupt trade,” Stephen says of the challenges involved in this major overhaul. “The façade upgrade incorporates a large free-standing brickwork feature wall and we worked with stakeholders to incorporate industry-best engineering methods.”
